Valley C. Shaia (she/her) is a Lebanese-American and a Libra/Pisces/Scorpio. She was born and raised in VA, but somehow ended up in MA. Shaia is a graduate of JMU, VCU, and Lesley U with an MFA in Creative Writing for Young People. Additionally, she is a member of Tin House YA ’22 and a scholarship recipient of the Highlights Foundation. Her poems, “divisible by two” and “echoes,” are published in the inaugural issue of the literary journal, The Tonic. She daylights as a narrative designer for Hasbro, and her first game was MONOPOLY Disney Villains Henchmen, which is fateful considering she is a villainess herself. When she’s not writing, you can find her cooking hushwee, pulling tarot cards while watching Buffy with her two cats, or chugging coffee in indie New England bookstores.
