Writing and reading have been my passions for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I would make my own little books out of folded paper and staples, filling them with stories and my own illustrations. I was always captivated by books—especially anything spooky—and spent hours getting lost in those worlds. But sometimes, a book would leave me itching to rewrite a scene or tweak a character’s path. I’d jot down ideas like an inspired author but with ulterior motives of making the female lead take far more action.
One quote that’s always stayed with me is from George R. R. Martin: “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one.” For me, it’s that reminder that every story is a doorway, an adventure waiting to be reimagined.
